Third Party Audits

A third party audit of your website is. a good place to start when evaluating your new website.  The two audits I like to use are Lighthouse and GTMetrix.  Both are free.

What makes a good website?

In general, 3 things make a good website.

 

Aesthetics – It has to look good.  In the case of a law firm, it needs to look trustworthy, secure, and sometimes powerful.  These things put the user at ease and encourage the user to take action.

Create Leads – People often think of SEO here.  This is your website’s ability to be found by others on the web.  It’s hard to do, and there is a lot of competition.  When someone googles “help with my DUI”, that person is going to pick from the first 3 or 5 websites shown on Google.

Convert Leads – This is when people actually pick up the phone and call the number or fill out your form field.

 

How your site scores

Aesthetics – The aesthetics of your site significantly detract from its professionalism.  It appears rushed, with several elements undermining its quality
 – Overall, the design lacks the sophistication expected of a legal firm’s website
 – Text color choices render some sections unreadable
 – Misspellings and left over “lorem ipsum”
 – the ‘Contact Us’ section fails to fully capitalize on user engagement, as not all listed items are interactive, which is crucial for potential clients seeking immediate assistance, especially in urgent legal situations

 

Create Leads – The existing website fails to utilize several crucial SEO practices, significantly impacting its ability to generate organic leads:

  • Absence of meta descriptions, which are essential for search engines to understand page content.
  • The use of bland text without the inclusion of mixed media like images or videos diminishes engagement.
  • A limited number of pages does not sufficiently demonstrate authority on legal matters.
